Ingredients
- 800gr\28oz Ingredients for the meat balls:
- 1 ground beef
- 300gr\10oz clove garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp. shredded mozzarella\coconut mozzarella (dairy free)
- 1 freshly chopped parsley
- to taste large egg, beaten
- to taste kosher salt
- 2 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1 extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 For the sauce:
- 800ml\28fl oz medium onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. cloves garlic, minced
- to taste can crushed tomatoes
- to taste dried oregano
Preparation
- In a large bowl combine beef, garlic, mozzarella, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Form into 14=16 meatballs.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until golden on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
- To the same skillet, add onion and cook until soft, 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute more. Add tomatoes and oregano and season with salt and pepper.
- Add meatballs back to skillet, cover and simmer until sauce has thickened, 15 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. You can try this recipe with cauliflower rice if needed.
